Marie Sklodowska was born November 7, 1867. Her parents were Bronislawa and Vladyslaw Sklodowska, two Polish school teachers that married in 1860. Marie was the fifth of five children, their names were Zofia, Jozef, Bronya, and Helena. When Marie was little, her family called her Manya.

Growing up, Marie had such a thirst for knowledge while going to school in Poland. Soon Marie found a secret school called Flying University. It was secret because the classes moved from place to place and there were books they had that could really adapt to her speed of knowledge that other books couldn't do. After her studies at Flying University, Marie wanted to study physicics and chemistry in Paris.

While Marie was in Paris, she met a frenchman named Pierre Curie and together, they studied chemistry and physicics. Overtime, Marie and Pierre married July 26, 1895. Marie had moved away from her home country of Poland and went to go live in France.

Finally after all her years studying chemistry and phyisics, Marie had made an amazing new discovery. She had been recognized because she uncovered the elements known as polonium and radium in her lab. This accomplishment gave scientist a new perspective to look at the different elemets and opened the doors to an era of new medical treatment for some diseases. For this, Marie Curie won the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 1903, and recieved another of the same award in 1911.

Later on, Eve Curie was born on December 6, 1904 in Paris, France. Eve married to Henry Richchardson Labouisse Jr and grew up to become a French and American journalist and pianist. Then Irene was born on March 17, 1897 in Paris, France. She married to  Frédéric Joliot-Curie and had two children. She became a scientist just like her mother.

Sadly on July 4, 1934, Marie SKlodowska Curie died in Savoy, France due to aplastic anaemia. It was a blood disease that often results from exposure to large amounts of radiation. This is from her working with chemicals and elements. The impact Marie Curie has left on this world is amazing, her accomplishments show that women can be capible of anything and that even more discoveries can be made in the world.
